NI Smoking Ban Starts Today 30 Apr 07
Since 6am this morning, it has been illegal to smoke in enclosed public areas, such as shops, pubs, restaurants and, of course, offices, in Northern Ireland. I’m sure there will be those who will moan about about the ban, but personally I think its long overdue.
Now on (increasingly infrequent) nights out, I no longer have to return home smelling like an ashtray – an unwelcome reminder of what I’ve been breathing in during the evening. Plus, we’ll now have the option of taking Ben out with us for a meal or to watch broadcast sporting events (I’m thinking of the Rugby Union World Cup, this Autumn) without any niggling concerns about the air he’s breathing.

Totally agree with you Nev. The ban comes in force over here (england) on the 1st July i believe. If theres one thing i hate about going out, its the awful smell that you wake up to the morning after!
