A Breath of Fresh (MacBook) Air? 16 Jan 08
Browsing through my subscribed news feeds, its not often that the same subject crops up in both my “green” category and my techie/geek one, but today is one of those rare occasions. Its seems that everyone wants to talk about Apple’s newly announced MacBook Air, whether it be from a technology stand-point or with a view to its eco-friendly credentials, which make it quite probably the greenest Apple yet.
On the latter topic, I found articles from Treehugger, EcoGeek (I guess that one is to be expected), Ecorazzi and Groovy Green, to name but a few. However, what Greenpeace will make of the new MacBook is not yet known.
Personally, I wish that they’d squeezed an optical drive (CD/DVD) into the “Air” even if it meant adding a few extra millimetres of thickness, but the chances of me buying one any time soon are slim anyway.
update: Greenpeace’s verdict is now in.
